Bio
I was born and raised in Carletonville, a small mining town outside of Johannesburg, South Africa. I studied biomedical data science (BA, BE, 2018) and music neuroscience (MA, 2020) at Dartmouth College (USA). I completed my PhD in Music Technology at Stanford University in 2026, where my dissertation focused on developing captioning, haptic, and music personalization systems that aimed to center D/deaf & Disabled Joy in their design. I joined the Inclusive Technology group at Monash University (Melbourne, Australia) in 2026 as a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor), where I am continuing to design and develop personalized, inclusive media technologies. When not in the office, I can often be found making and/or playing games and/or music.Â
